If you’re looking for where to stay in Dublin, then you’ve come to the right place!
Dublin is an atmospheric, literary city. It is a great city for history and book lovers as it is home to many authors and poets. Here you will find castles, traditional pubs and countless opportunities to experience live music.
Dublin is quite compact, so all the sights, activities and walks are easy to manage. You can reach almost everything on foot.
So when choosing your hotel, don’t worry too much about where it is located (unless it is far from the center). The city’s streetcar system also makes it easy for you to get around.
Here is my list of the best hotels in Dublin:
1 . Harcourt Hotel

Located in the city center, this three-star hotel is housed in a row of historic Georgian townhouses dating back to the 18th century, one of which was once the home of the famous writer George Bernard Shaw. The hotel has a bar with regular live music, a restaurant and a beer garden. The rooms, while not huge, have nice touches of color to brighten up the space and feature plenty of natural light and wood accents. The beds are comfortable and there’s a flat-screen TV, desk and free Wi-Fi in every room. The bathrooms are a little smaller, but the water pressure is excellent (a big plus for me). Breakfast is also included.

Clarence Hotel

This hotel in the lively Temple Bar district was bought by Bono and The Edge from U2 in 1992. A few years later, it was completely renovated and is considered one of the coolest places in the city (although it no longer belongs to the duo). The four-star boutique hotel has an artsy, quirky design with lots of colorful artwork and wallpaper. The rooms have been designed by Irish artisans and feature stylish, individual furnishings with white oak floors, colorful and plush headboards and unique artwork on the walls. The bathrooms feature powerful rain showers, limestone floors and tiled walls. Room amenities include the usual amenities (flat screen TV, desk, minibar, coffee/tea maker, desks).
On the first floor there is a luxurious cocktail bar and a fantastic restaurant serving fine Irish cuisine, including daily breakfast and bottomless brunch on Sundays.

Maldron Hotel Kevin Street

Overlooking St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Maldron is a cozy accommodation right on the edge of the Portobello district. It is an elegant four-star hotel with a simple, minimalist design. The rooms are large and flooded with light, and the beds are large and comfortable. There are also flat-screen TVs, coffee/tea makers, desks and free Wi-Fi. The bathrooms are spacious and the showers have good water pressure. I love the breakfast buffet, which has a great selection and lots of fresh fruit. It’s a great place to stay if you want to be centrally located.

The Dean

This is a hip and funky boutique hotel. The rooms are not huge, but they are bright and uniquely designed with colorful furniture and artwork on the walls. All rooms have a flat-screen smart TV (with streaming services), a minibar, Nespresso machines, a desk and free Wi-Fi. The white-tiled bathrooms are equipped with powerful rain showers, Bluetooth speakers and luxurious bath products.
I also love the chilled bar and restaurant on the roof with a view of the city. There is also a sauna and a heated outdoor pool. Overall, you really get a lot for your money here, considering the amenities and the central location.

The Alex

This comfortable and stylish four-star hotel is located just south of Docklands. The rooms are decorated in rich, bold colors and feature elegant design elements (such as artwork and wooden desks). The beds are large and comfortable, and the rooms have large smart TVs, desks and fast Wi-Fi. The standard rooms don’t have a coffee/tea maker, but there is an on-site café where you can grab a drink. I particularly liked the rain showers, which have great pressure.
The staff are really helpful and keep everything clean (the hotel is always spotless). The hotel also has a fitness center and a couple of excellent restaurants on the premises. The breakfast buffet (which can be included in the price) also offers a great selection.

The Spencer Hotel

This four-star hotel overlooks the river and has a range of upscale amenities, including an indoor pool, fitness center, cocktail bar and casual restaurant. The breakfast is also great and offers plenty of variety (including vegetarian options). If you’re traveling by car, there’s secure on-site parking (which isn’t common in Dublin).
The rooms are spacious and minimalist in soft pastel colors. Thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows, they have plenty of natural light. The bathrooms are also large and feature a shower/tub combination and complimentary Rituals bath products. The rooms also have a mini fridge and a coffee/tea maker. The hotel is stylish and offers excellent value for money.

The Hendrick Smithfield

This fun and quirky three-star hotel is decorated with artwork by local artists. The rooms aren’t huge, but they make good use of the space and have all the usual amenities, including flat-screen TVs, coffee/tea makers, desks and Wi-Fi. Some rooms even have bunk beds, making them a good choice for traveling families. The bathrooms are well-lit and the showers have good pressure. For the thirsty, there is a bar with more than a dozen beers on tap. The Hendrick is a solid mid-range hotel in Smithfield, a less touristy and trendy area of the city with great pubs and cool cafés.
